Dom Muzyka hotel: Website

WikiSym will be held at the Dom Muzyka, which is a music school located on the edge of the old town of Gdansk. Formerly a Prussian barracks, the school consists of two large buildings with conference and teaching rooms & auditoriums, a student dormitory, and a hotel. The complex is a 5-10 minute walk to the heart of the old town of Gdańsk.

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Dom Muzyka hotel, which is basic but well-kept. The rooms that have been reserved for the conference include:

• single rooms: These are small rooms with single beds, for one person only — 213zl/night
• double rooms: These are larger rooms with two single beds, which can be pushed together for a double bed or separated for a two-person twin room — 289zl/night
• double lux rooms: like the double rooms, but larger and with larger televisions & refrigerators — 306zl/night

Rooms are available for July 6-11 (Wikisym & Wikimania). Rooms include teakettles, telephones and wireless internet. They do not include hairdriers or alarm clocks. Irons can be borrowed from the front desk. There is an additional room tax of 1.90zl person/night.

There are two sides to the hotel: the street side and the courtyard side. The rooms on the courtyard side are quieter, but are not air-conditioned. The rooms on the street side face a busy road, but are air-conditioned (and the windows are soundproofed). You can request courtyard or street side.

Additionally, you can request a room on the 4th floor, the "attic" floor; these rooms have high windows and beamed ceilings.

Breakfast is included in the room price. Breakfast includes eggs and sausages, as well as bread, vegetables, cheese and coldcuts, yogurt, and coffee, tea and juice. If you do not wish to have breakfast at the hotel, you can request that it be removed from the bill — breakfast is 18zl/day (approx. $6 US).

All reservation must be made via e-mail and be guaranteed by credit card or pre-payment (bank transfer). All the detailed information will be given in confirmation of reservations send by the hotel.

Cancellation policy:
Guests can cancel their Dom Muzyka reservations without any charges no later than 30 days before arriving.

• Cancellation 30-15 days before arriving – the hotel will charge only for the first night of the reservation
• Cancellation 14- until the day of arriving – the hotel will charge the full amount of the reservation.

Dom Muzyka dorm

The Dom Muzyka also includes a "students house", a dorm that has single, double and triple rooms. These rooms have ethernet connections instead of wireless internet and are in a separate (but next door) building from the hotel.

• Double rooms: 190zl/night

These are true student dormitory rooms (not backpacker hostel style dorms) and are equipped with a desk, chairs, etc. Breakfast can be purchased separately for 18zl. To book these rooms, please email and mention "wikimania".
