• Yes, there are some alternative hotels. For example, the Best Western Plus Mountain View Inn is very close to the conference hotel (5 mins. drive) and Castro Street (downtown and main area for hanging out after the conference). The conference hotel is about an hour from the conference venue (on foot) and there seems to be no public transport available between these two locations. It would be great if people who arrive with their own (rental-)car, stay at the Holiday Inn Express and who are willing to offer a ride for those less fortunate could add a message here. — Andreas Gohr 2011/10/01 14:18

Hey Andreas, I think there will be shuttles from the hotel as well. Not sure of the details. Anyway, yes, I am sure there will be carsharing; if people want to meet up at the hotel breakfast that could be a good idea. – phoebe
