Heather Ford brought up the subject of credibility of sources. She is thinking of live primary sources reporting on live events like the earthquakes in Japan or Haiti or violence around the elections in Kenya which are relevant for her workplace. Would like to categorize primary sources by their physical location or previous reputation. Physical location is relevant insofar as one is especially interested on reports on a natural disaster which come from people who are experiencing it, not (say) retweets of a remote global media source about it.

There were just two of us. We looked at http://Discoursedb.org as an example of interest. It has information on the sources accessible thru semantic-mediawiki functions – but these sources are established institutional sources (physical publications); it addresses a somewhat different problem. — Peter B Meyer 2011/10/05 20:27
